Purpose: Museum and archive students need to dedication and commitment to collection development, advocacy, interpretation and engagement. Most significantly, we share more values and aspirations than our differences in practice. Mutual understanding, sharing skills and developing new areas of expertise are crucial in the modern workplace of increasing cuts where specialist posts are either lost or merged. This field needs to be flexible, outward looking and ready for change.
