This course enables the heritage enthusiasts with basic knowledge of having visited temples, to understand at higher level how temple styles evolved and their fundamental differences. They will be going thru the details of how Dravidian Architecture developed into a distinctive style with variations in 4 states. It talks about why Tamilnadu is termed as "Temple State" and then temple buildings, components, Terms used in the State. Then with this understandings, walks thru the unique aspects of iconic temples built by Pallavas, Cholas, Pandyas and later on renovated and expandded by Vijayanagara Dynasties.
