Introduction to Heritage Studies

 

Every Day 45 Minutes Lecture & 15 Minutes for Discussion

 

Interaction Language: Hindi/English                   Presentation Slides: English

 

Objective: To motivate young learners to pursue heritage studies.

Audience: Age group 10-15 Yrs (Specially for School children’s)

            Introduction to Heritage Studies delivers foundation on heritage studies, structural heritage recognition and research upon recent archaeological excavations along with virtual museum visits. Discussion topics would be: to explore museums virtually and to familiarize with archaeological sites. Presentation would be basic at first to teach what qualifies as heritage and structural heritage, difference between monument, museum and site, and modern and heritage structure. Introduction to tools used by archaeologists while excavations and the methodology of research. Interesting real stories of museum setups and challenges would be shared creating a space for students to come up with potential solutions for the same.

Sessions will be a combination of Art History, Conservation, Museology and Archaeological aspects.
